What is the aim of the Vehicle Immobilisers (wheel clamping) Course?To work as a SIA Vehicle immobilisers (wheel clamper), SIA door Supervisors or SIA Security Guard in the UK you will need to have an SIA licence issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). One of the requirements of the SIA licence is that you hold a recognised qualification, and the BTEC Level 2 National Certificate for vehicle immobilisers ( wheel clamping) from EDEXCEL meets the requirement for the SIA Licence. The SIA vehicle immobilisers (wheel clamper) course is run over four days and has 28 hours of tuition and 2 hours of exams. The exams consist of two multiple-choice papers. NOTE: If you work as a vehicle immobilisers (wheel clamper), door Supervisor or security officer without the right SIA licence you are liable up to a fine of £5000 and/or up to 6 months in prison. Who is the vehicle immobilisers (wheel clampers) training for?New entrants to the security industry and those who are returning to it having previously worked prior to the introduction of SIA licensing in 2004. Everyone will need to undertake the SIA training to be able to apply for the SIA licence.
