Handcuff Hand cuff training also know as speedcuff,Quik cuff or rigid cuff training. We at HVS Training Ltd understand how confusing the use of handcuffs can be with so many rumors of 'you can and you can't use them' If you look into the law on the use of handcuffs they are not considered an offensive weapon and anyone can carry them, however if you are going to use them as part of your job in security or door supervision then the police request that you are trained. This does not give you the automatic right to wear them whilst working but it does give you reasonable rights to ask to wear them, when on the course you would be taught that you should always check with your employer that it doesn't effect their Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's or AI's) and that their insurance will cover you if you have to use them (if not you can get your own for around £80 per year) and we also teach that where possible you ask the local Police service in the area where you are going to be using them that they have no problem with it as you have been trained.
